The Joint Commission

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 20,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Founded in 1951, the Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. It is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

The Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value. To earn and maintain the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™, an organization must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years.

The accreditation award recognizes Perpetual Care Home Health‘s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state of the art standards.

Perpetual Care Home Health underwent a rigorous unannounced on-site survey in May 2013 and was evaluated by a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.

In achieving the Joint Commission accreditation, Perpetual Care Home Health is making a significant investment in quality on a day to day basis. With the said accreditation, Perpetual Care Home Health is now committed not only in providing the highest level of care for its patients but also in maintaining excellence and continually improving the care it provides.
